It's funny, because when I had planned to write this post initially, I had no idea that I would experience a confrontation (that demanded "forgiveness" in the end). I believe that forgiveness can happen in different ways and have different processes. It's hard to just abruptly forgive someone on the spot. Sometimes we need a moment to cool off and let the dust settle. Other times, (like the occurrence that I just experienced) forgiveness takes shape in the form of "letting go". Then there are difficult situations where you are confronted by someone you love and if the wrong words are said; forgiveness must be given immediately before bridges are burned. 1 Peter 4:8 says that Love covers a multitude of sins. Paul is encouraging us to love one another deeply; be it the body of CHRIST JESUS, your family members, your spouse (or your boyfriend/girlfriend), or even your co-workers/colleagues! Love is a powerful weapon that we can use to put satan and his minions assunder. Satan wants us to give into the feelings of our flesh and to take vengeance into our own hands. But, when we obey the voice of HOLY SPIRIT and hold our peace; it will only be a matter of time until GOD turns the situation around. He will cause the one(s) who hurt you to beg for your #forgiveness. But before justice comes, you MUST forgive those who have offended you. This is for your good so you can move forward in the healing process of GOD. He will pour out His goodness and peace upon you as you trust in Him.
GOD is good! I have witnessed Him firsthand humble my haters and hang those Hamans on their own gallows (Esther 7:9-10, KJV)! I encourage you to set the abuse, the situation, the circumstance, the moment, and those hurtful words free by casting them at the feet of JESUS. Ask The LORD through prayer to help you truly forgive those who did you wrong; enabling you through the power of HOLY SPIRIT to move forward (into the blessings and promises He has prepared for you).
"But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses."-JESUS
Mark 11:26, KJV
