The anticipation of a fresh start/clean slate is exhilarating. I don’t go all out and really celebrate the “New Year” yet you can’t help but recognize that it is a new season to begin again. I actually believe that every day is a new day to start over and get it right; a genuine blessing from GOD (Lamentations 3:22-24). Most people purposefully wait until January 1st to pursue a goal or dream. Our society puffs the event up as if this is the only time to do so. Either way, you can’t ignore the fact that it will no longer be 2018. Thus, this automatically gives one that sense of a new beginning. If you live to see the new year then it almost feels like time has been added to your clock like the Justin Timberlake/Amanda Seyfried flick “In Time”. What will you do with this precious gift called “time” in 2019? Below, I break down my #aesthetic for the upcoming year; sharing my plans, my hopes, and my vision. May it inspire and motivate you as you mentally, spiritually, and physically get yourself right to enter the next chapter of your life!
MOTIVATIONS
Right now, in these final days of 2018, I am preparing to launch an app for AESTHETIC: The Art of Me. I believe that this will be a great tactic to introduce the blog to newcomers. The app will also make the blog become more accessible while on-the-go and enables subscribers to get involved! I’m also focused on gaining more subscribers/followers as I continue to market my blog; promoting it on social media. Going in to 2019, I’m making connections in Pittsburgh; gaining opportunities to collaborate with other entrepreneurs and creative minds!
ASPIRATIONS
This is a list of goals I want to accomplish by the end of 2019:
•Record my EP
It’s high time for my singing aspirations to be highlighted. I have been juggling my acting career and writing simultaneously, but singing has been placed on the back burner until now. I’m so close to this dream being realized that I can practically touch it, smell it, and taste it. It’s so real after doing the research, planning, and praying. Subscribe to the blog and follow me on Social Media to stay up-to-date as this endeavor develops!
•Learn How to Swim I’ve had perms since I was 5 and now that I’m natural for good this time, I want to swim so I can learn how to surf!
•Get My Driver’s License
I have my permit, but past circumstances have prevented me from being able to pursue this desire. Thus, you shouldn’t judge everyone who never got one at 16 because not everyone is privileged.
I'm also believing for my personal situations to be resolved/moving forward in to the next phase of my life (i.e. marriage and motherhood) as I draw closer to turning 30 (2 more years)!
INSPIRATION:
My Faith in GOD and trusting Him (His Word, His Promises, and His perfect timing) are my foundation! Without my Faith I would be a hot mess! People live life as if they know for sure that they have the next 100 years when the truth is that tomorrow may be their final day. If we all could see that then we wouldn’t waste time. We would tell the people that we love that we do love them and we wouldn’t hesitate in going after our dreams. You wouldn’t settle. You would live boldly!
I’m also excited about life in general! Going to a cafe to work, watching a movie, reading an article, or even seeing a well photographed picture can ignite the creative spark GOD has placed within me; causing the wheels in my mind to turn and produce anything from a blog post to a synopsis for a screenplay.
2019 is your clean slate. What will you write on it? And at the end of the year, what will it teach you?
