Aloe Vera is a super plant that has the ability to heal and restore. Recently, I have added Aloe Vera to my #aesthetic; implementing it to my skin regime. I use the gel from my Aloe Vera plants applying it to my skin to lighten my dark spots naturally. I purchased my two Aloe Vera plants from my local Home Depot for under $10 each. Upon buying my plants, I didn't realize that Aloe Vera is a type of succulent. This caused me to do a little research to learn more about Aloe Vera's history and its benefits.
According to draxe.com, Aloe Vera "(...) is considered to be the most biologically active of the Aloe species; astonishingly, more than 75 potentially active components have been identified in the plant, including vitamins, minerals, saccharides, amino acids, anthraquinones, enzymes, lignin, saponins and salicylic acids." It has been utilized by all cultures for centuries. Organicfacts.net highlights that "The origin of this burn plant is believed to be in Sudan and has been used for more than 6,000 years. The great virtues of this plant have been recognized by many civilizations, including the Egyptians, Spanish, Persians, Greeks, Italians, Africans, Japanese, and Indians. It grows best in warm and dry climates and is densely found in India, Africa, and other arid zones."
Aloe Vera is known to treat cold sores, burns, skin irritations, constipation, diabetes; while also working as a conditioner for your hair and scalp. Many people with locs use the gel from Aloe Vera to not only wash their hair or condition their scalp, but to also to retwist their locs; utilizing a natural/organic product rather than a name brand item.
There are various options to choose from when deciding how you want to implement this super staple into your #aesthetic. From bottled gels, powders, pills, and the plant itself; depending on your desire and need it shouldn't be hard to get started. As I use the gel from my Aloe Vera plants, I continue to discover more about what it can do and what it has to offer concerning my overall health. Below are 4 ways that you can use the gel from Aloe Vera to elevate your #aesthetic.
