I’m so excited to write this post today because this topic is the essence of my entire blog and business. Like anything worth accomplishing, starting a business from the ground up, is a task that demands the practice of patience. I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I would like to share with you all what I’m discovering on this journey as I continue to take baby steps moving forward to advance my business; in hopes that it will assist you to jump start your dream business or any goals you may have in general.
Naturally, starting a business causes you to become an entrepreneur, launching an establishment on your own. Personally, passion to me is the energy that gives one the drive to continue to pursue a goal or dream. Without passion, your patience WILL falter. I feel like a lot of "wannabes" loosely use the term "entrepreneur" to puff themselves up in the eyes of others, but I also feel that it is another way of being identified as a "leader". You are investing time, money, and your ability/talent into a dream that you hope/pray others will believe in. A leader is not just an individual who is in control, but he or she is also the one who has the ability to guide others in the appropriate direction. A leader isn't necessarily the smartest person out of the bunch, but the wisest. When planning to start a business, it's wise to write out your desires, plans, goals, and dreams. Put all of these essentials on paper (or phone/laptop, etc) before jumping the gun and making any hasty moves. Like I stated already, I'm taking baby steps as I build my business from the ground up. For right now, I am starting with me as I take on clients while being agile to my daily routine (not to overwhelm myself with stress pertaining to networking/gaining traction). As things progress, I look forward to becoming an LLC (Limited Liability Company), purchasing office space, and hiring a staff of screenwriters to take on more clients causing my business to flourish in its field. Everyone gets hyped up about the end results, but rarely enjoy the process that must be endured in order to reach the desired destination. Honestly, I'm nothing but thrilled to step out on this endeavor and I am extremely proud of what I have been blessed to establish thus far with this blog. I always call it a "one-stop shop" where I can promote my skill sets/endeavors and business in Script Development (as well as sharing lifestyle tips to help improve one's life). My blog and business express "the art of me": my method of how I approach things and my attention to detail.
Continuing on the subject of "Script Development": I decided to start a business pertaining to the cultivation of assisting entertainment professionals with their screenplay(s) because of my direct passion for screenwriting! I have been writing stories since I was a "child". When I joined drama club as well as studying theatre/film in high school, I became exposed to the art of screenwriting, leading me to write screenplays in my spare time (when I wasn't studying for a test or at cheerleading practice). Screenwriting is one of my many passions that I desire to have working simultaneously with my passion for acting thus enabling me to act in my own films. I'm constantly envisioning things on the "movie screen of my mind" and this is the direct passion that gives me joy when I write a screenplay; looking forward to the end result where you will see your script on the screen! I have been on this journey going on nine years (since I graduated high school in 2009). Screenwriting is a very difficult field to break into. Many screenwriters get their foot in the door through screenwriting contests, but it's not a guarantee to be the path for every screenwriter. What makes a business a business is your clientele. Without clients you don't have a business and most businesses gain traction in building their clientele through connections. These connections assist in promoting your establishment; giving positive referrals to their following encouraging others to trust your services. The right connections to those in your field/line of work will open the right doors to further stabilize your business.
As I am networking and reaching out to others about my business/blog, I am also doing my part in promoting what I have to offer on my social media platforms. The 2010s has become the age of "self promotion". With the booming progress of technology in the 21st Century; anyone can become "insta-famous" or a "YouTube" star by uploading what they have to offer. It's become a constant task to keep yourself from being consumed with how many likes and follows you have obtained within the first hour of you posting something on your profile. But the bright side of it all is that it enables people to connect from every corner of the world. You can become a blogger for a company in another state or even country outside of where you're living because of the internet (i.e. email)! Promoting my weekly post from my blog on my social media platforms has led people to check out my blog and see what I'm all about. Like I said, it's what I'm able to do right now and it's a vital start in putting my services out there. Anything IS possible and anything CAN happen. As I have it noted on my "Skill Sets" page: "Despise not the day of small beginnings" taken from Zechariah 4:10 (KJV).
And the progress of the internet has enabled me to start my business first online as I manage clients on my own connecting with them through email, face time, skype, etc. all from the comforts of home without having to travel. Starting this way allows me to manage my business with less hassle and stress. Some people get too anxious and put the cart before the horse thinking they need to get the building (and what have you) then they can start the business. Like a mustard seed your business will start small, increase over time as you continue to water it, and grow into a large flourishing tree that is bearing fruit.
Promote your services, make connections, get exposure, and as your clientele grows then you can take the next step to expand your business by gaining a building/location/offices.
Being an online business also demands that you establish a safe way to ensure your payments from from your clients. I recommend starting a PayPal account as they provide you with your own personal link that you can give to clients to pay you directly. I have my account under personal, but upon growth I will change it to a business account (you must have a location for your establishment i.e. offices or building to have a business account unless you have decided that you will only work directly from your home). I even got a PayPal Prepaid Mastercard so I can transfer payments from my PayPal balance straight to my card for easier access.

I have done a little research and found some resources that I plan to utilize to take my business to the next level as I continue forward with AESTHETIC SCRIPT DEVELOPMENT.
I'd like to note that I feel my approach is the best way for me to begin from the ground up; by first gaining influential clientele that will highlight my business showcasing that I have the skills to best service potential/new clients. Below are some links to online resources that I hope will help you as you step out on Faith to launch your business/dream!
