Summer Sights

3 cities. 3 events. Get your calendars out and mark the date because it’s going to be your #bestsummerever

I took the time to search for events that will be taking place Summer 2018 in NYC, Pittsburgh, & Los Angeles. These are the cities that are on my radar right now pertaining to the States. If you live in another state or country feel free to leave your 2 cents and/or links in the comment section below to share with others about what's going on this Summer in your area!

I'm really excited to share this post with you today because I am all about making tomorrow better than today and I believe that this Summer is going to be the one that rivals the Summers of the past!

So without further or do, let's get into it, shall we?

•NYC:

1. New York’s version of Coachella: “Governor’s Ball”, is June 1-3 at Randalls Island Park, Randalls Island. Jack White, Travis Scott, & Eminem are headlining!

2. Every year from June-August, the “Bryant Park Summer Film Festival” remains a New York favorite amongst natives and tourists alike. Everfest.com describes it as “an outdoor series of movie screenings boasting a lineup of blockbusters, award-winning works and celebrated cult films(...)features critically acclaimed dramas, laugh-out-loud comedies and black and white classics. Post-film discussions are among the additional attractions.”

3. Live Jazz performance, Open Mic Monday’s, and Friday Night Poetry Slam...”Nuyorican Poets Cafe” is definitely a spot to checkout during the those sultry summer nights and is a great date-night event! Checkout their site for more information on upcoming events.

For more action in the city that never sleeps:

•PITTSBURGH:

1. “Model Week Pittsburgh” describes itself as “a weeklong series of events concluding with an intensive 3 day experience providing models with all the tools they need to succeed in the competitive modeling industry!”

From July 9-13 aspiring models will get the an incredible experience of seeing what it takes to be in the modeling industry. Follow the link to register and get your tickets!

2. Downtown Pittsburgh transforms into a larger-than-life jazz club with music playing all around on indoor and outdoor stages in celebration of “Pittsburgh JazzLive International Festival”. 140 jazz musicians will be offering free and ticketed events that will make any jazz-lover have the #bestweekever

3. Being back in my hometown, I must say, that the South Side is my favorite neighborhood. The vibe of this area reminds me of parts of Brooklyn from the eccentric Beehive Coffeehouse on E. Carson St. {http://beehivebuzz.com/}

to the local bookstore next door! If you’re a native of the area or will be in the area visiting be sure to make plans to visit “Southside Works” for their “Street Party” on June 9 and “Southside Works Exposed” July 6-8; both boast the promise of providing food, drinks, live music, and local art!

•LOS ANGELES:

1.  On June 16 from 12PM-10PM, “Vegan Playground Los Angeles”, is going down! The event is as they say in their own words a “celebration of life and all things that make humanity beautiful.” A little pricy {GA:$44/VIP:$77}, but worth every buck for an event taking place outside at Perishing Square located in the heart of downtown LA; offering an array of vendors, beverage tastings, live performances, speaker panels, roller rink, playground, and MUCH MORE. All food available is vegan, of course!

2. “Marina del Rey Summer Concerts”, from July 12-September 1, are a great way to spend a summer night! They take place every Thursday and alternating Saturdays, at Burton Chace Park from 7-10PM. For this year’s lineup follow the link: https://www.discoverlosangeles.com/what-to-do/events/marina-del-rey-summer-concerts

3. Now, I want to be in LA when this event takes place August 5 {9AM-4PM}! The 3rd annual “BrunchCon LA” at The Reef downtown. This is a highly acclaimed food and drink festival on all things#brunch

The event boasts of providing photo booths, a Museum of Brunch, dancing, Mimosa Pong, Giant Jenga, corn hole, and more!

And as an added ~BONUS~

MIAMI:

Everfest.com describes “Wynwood Art Walk” as “(...)an abundance of food trucks, craft beer, live music performances and, of course, the finest displays of artisanship in South Florida.” The event takes place on every second Saturday of every month (and I mean literally every month, the next ones are from April-December)! TORONTO:

Toronto looks like the place to be this summer to have the theatre experience of a lifetime! Their summer lineup is jam packed with critically acclaimed showstoppers such as “Phantom of the Opera”, “Motown: The Musical”, and “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s: The King & I”. Visit the following link to purchase your tickets and/or see the full lineup!

Personally, when it’s time for me to visit Canada, I’d like to spend the day in Niagara-on-the-Lake and go on a wine tasting tour!

But whatever you have planned for this summer, make it count, and make it your best one ever! I hope this will help as you get ready for your #summertoremember
