Inspiration Identified

Updated: Apr 27, 2018

Every week I am constantly searching for the next thing to blog about! Sometimes, ideas come easily to me, and I am motivated to put a post together sharing my inspiration with you. Other times, I hit a wall and at the last minute I am able to come up with something to write about. The reality is that inspiration is all around us, if you're sensitive to it. As a Christian, I pray constantly for HOLY SPIRIT to assist me and to lead me in what I write about (compiling a post). Without fail my prayers are answered and I'm amazed at how everything turns out. My desire today, is to share with you some ways to get your creative juices flowing, and how to take those baby steps in launching your dream/goal.

ATMOSPHERE

Take a look around you. Your environment has a lot to offer when it comes to inspiration; especially if you're into home decor and interior design. When it comes to blogging, you can offer a series in how to decorate each room, or colors and designs that work best together. When I am working on my blog or writing a screenplay, I like to focus in a cafe environment. Cafes are one of my favorite places to be. The ambiance is laid back and I like to be busy around other worker bees who are focused on their goals as they type away on their laptops (while sipping their coffees). The cafe scene is iconic and attracts everyone to come hangout or work hard. It's a home away from home, especially if you work from home or are a stay-at-home parent. Setting yourself up in a place where you are comfortable helps you to relax as you hone in on every detail that you are applying your attention to. I know from experience that if I can't be myself then I can't focus and my creativity is stunted.

INTERESTS

Passion plays a huge role in inspiring us all! I tend to think about various and somewhat random occupations; wondering how someone could work in that field. It comes down to passion. You have to be driven by what you do. I'm passionate about screenwriting, writing in general (lyrics, plays, poems), acting, singing, blogging, and modeling. These are key fields that spark my interest and motivate me to never give up. Knowing what it is that you are passionate about is another way of identifying inspiration because this a topic that you can address when writing, blogging, and/or posting. Hobbies are the follow-up to your passion. Taking note of things that you like to do during your free time can help break whatever "writer's block" you're going through. Even seemingly trivial things such as your favorite hue can pave the way to writing or creating something #epic

The hardest part is creating content that either hasn't been done before or putting a fresh spin on an oldie but goody. Try constructing a list of your passions, hobbies, interests, and favorites; letting your creativity take the steering wheel as you craft content that contains a special something (that sets it apart): YOU.

Another trick to try in an effort to release your creative flow concerns the sounds that enter your ears. Music is one of the ultimate methods in influencing and inspiring everyone. Music sets the tone and establishes the atmosphere. It has been proven to alter a person's mood simply based upon the type of music the person is being exposed to! Choose music that motivates and inspires you to focus on what it is you desire to accomplish; allowing your imagination to manifest.

BE YOURSELF

Thus, "be yourself"! I have been hearing this a lot lately as I move forward with taking my career and blog to the next level. You'd be surprised at how people genuinely want to hear what you have to say (in your own words). It's easy to get caught up in trying to keep up with who's hot and what's trending. Yet, revealing what's dear to you or your personal opinion is your way of offering a fresh perspective on a topic that may or may not be relevant; enabling you to make it relevant by sounding off on it! From fashion to politics and everything in between; being honest is the best policy (as cliche as that might sound) and when you are true to yourself then your content will reveal that to your audience. Some of my favorite #aestheticposts are ones that I have written based completely upon what I already know and my own personal experiences. This is what "THE ART OF ME" is all about as I share tips, tricks, traits, and techniques that expose the beauty of my character as a human being (in hopes that they will inspire you and add to your unique #aesthetic).

LAUNCH

So...what is it that you aspire to do? Do you want to launch your own blog? Are you a writer stuck in a funk? Or, do you desire to create something that seems intimidating? Either way, you need to make a decision. Delay yourself from moving forward in the pursuit of your dreams OR #goforit

This is a red pill-blue pill moment for you ("Matrix" reference)! I hope you choose the "red pill"; thus stepping out on Faith regardless of the end result. My blog following is still growing and it's only been 5 months since I launched in November, but I wouldn't take back the hard work I have put in to it for anything! Everyone loves a good underdog story and more people need to see that it is possible to rise from the bottom to the top; from nowhere to now here! The number one key is to be patient with yourself and to not rush your process. You can't force it because then it's not genuine; it's only you #tryingtoohard and people can smell/see that from a mile away. Every time I've tried too hard, I've failed. Pacing yourself is the best way to be productive as you embark on establishing your goal/dream from thought to reality; especially if you work full-time or juggle a busy/hectic schedule. Yet, your daily load shouldn't be an excuse to detain you from "going forth boldly in the direction of your dreams (Thoreau, paraphrased)."

Don't stress out about finances or the costs. First things first, write the vision and make it plain (Habakkuk 2:3). Take a moment in your day and thoughtfully write out your goal/dream; flushing out the details of its objective. Like an outline, this helps pave the way of where you want to take things and is a great reference as you develop whatever it is you desire to create. This will enable you to continue to build upon your ideas. It's a great feeling to look back in retrospect and see how your project has developed over time!
