Million Dollar #aesthetic

Sometimes you don’t have the time (or the money) to lavish yourself with an all-out high-end spa experience. But nothing is impossible! With this guide, you will be able to pamper yourself without breaking the bank or even spending a dime. I find that these simple “aesthetics” are a beautiful reminder that the small things really do make a difference! So let’s discover a few ways on how we can feel like a million bucks all from the comforts of home.

1- ROSE PETAL BATH

Run a hot bath. Pour out your favorite body wash. Add rose petals! Yeah, it’s that simple! Rose water has been on the rise the past several years as a major staple that provides relaxing relief to the user. It is know to reduce skin redness and soothe skin irritation (among other things). There are so many ways rose water can be used and bathing is definitely one way. Just the thought of tossing rose petals into a steaming bubbling bath gives one feel good vibes. Leaf TV suggests “Pour coconut milk or lavender (or both) under the running water to elevate the experience. (Coconut milk softens your skin and lavender deepens your relaxation.)” There are also rose water bath sets that enable you to really get into the experience of what this #aesthetic has to offer.

2- AVOCADO MASK

Making and wearing an avocado mask is both pleasant and tasty! Avocado is know for cleaning out pores; making you feel refreshed. Wearing guacamole on your face (lol) for 7 minutes also lifts away dirt and excess oil while exfoliating your skin. 3- LEMON/CUCUMBER WATER

Lemon water and/or cucumber water is a simple way for anyone to detox from all of the crap “they” put in our food. Cucumbers contain vitamin B, potassium, and magnesium that help to lower blood pressure. They also contain antioxidants that fight off free radicals. Lemon water has the ability to clean out your system while also assisting with weight loss. You can add three slices of either lemon or cucumber to a glass of cold water or a mug of hot water. Some people add both for double the impact. Revisit this AESTHETIC post for more details! https://aestheticinfluence.wixsite.com/mariahfranklin/the-art-of-me/lemon-water-detox

4- RELAXING MUSIC

Music sets the mood and establishes the atmosphere you want to be in! Curate your very own personal playlist of soothing songs that speak to your soul; helping you to unwind. I like all types of genres and mainly focus on the words; relating to what is being said. One of my favorite playlists that I have created using Spotify consists of songs by Kem, Maxwell, Brian McKnight, and Eric Benét. It’s a mellow-smooth soundtrack that gives me good vibes!

5- PRIVACY

When planning to pamper yourself at home, make sure you have the space all to yourself to maximize the experience! You don’t want to be interrupted by those that you live with while you’re trying to relax. Being alone gives you the opportunity to clear your mind and collect yourself. Everyone gets bombarded by social media, media, movies, and the opinions of others in general that have the influence to persuade our decisions and actions. Spending time with yourself allows you to know yourself and to discover your voice. 6- SOAKING NAILS

Since I’ve been wearing my natural nails, I have been soaking them in a dish filled with hot vitamin E, coconut, and/or olive oil(s). This with drinking 1-2 glasses of milk per day has enables my nails to grow strong and healthy within a short amount of time. It is my favorite thing to do when I want to relax during the night before bed. Heat up a microwaveable dish filled with your choice of oil or oils for 2 minutes, let the dish sit for 2-5 minutes, and then dip your nails in for your own at home spa experience! The oils are amazing for your cuticles while soothing and conditioning your skin. 7- SWEET SLEEP

Web MD highlights that getting the proper amount of rest is key to resolving many health issues. Some of the things a good night’s rest does is steady blood sugar, maintain a healthy weight, and strengthen your immune system to fight off germs that cause illnesses. Life can be unpredictable and sometimes we don’t go to bed as soon as we would like. Once you’re done pampering yourself, hop into bed (at a decent hour-i.e. anything before midnight), and get your ZZZZ on! Managing a general time frame of getting to bed and waking up will give your body, soul, and mind the peace it needs to take on anything!
