Oscar Micheaux
Before Whoopi Goldberg, Eddie Murphy, Tyler Perry, and Jordan Peele there was Oscar Micheaux! He was the ultimate one-man show; writing, directing, producing, and starring in his own films. He is truly my hero when it comes to pursuing my dreams as an entertainer because I have the same passion (minus directing).

Lorraine Hansberry
As a woman of color who is also a writer, Lorraine, has been an inspiration to me! She was a talented artist that fought to expose the Black experience in America through the medium of theatre and writing. She did so much and still had more to give (more to share) before her untimely death. Nevertheless, Lorraine left her mark on Black and American Culture alike.

Langston Hughes
The Prince of Poetry: Langston Hughes paved the way for Black men and women to pursue their artistic dreams. Hughes was the definition of a true “Renaissance Man”; juggling his art, passions, and career that influenced Black people to dare to do the same.
